General Accessories

Threads

Threads come in all kinds of textures and thickness, and you'll want to choose one with sufficient coverage depending on your project's mesh count. Here's a quick reference guide of what to use where!

18 mesh fiber options

  • Pepper Pot Silk (Emma's Favorite) - a great, versatile fiber because you can use on 18 mesh or 13 mesh
  • Planet Earth Essentials
  • Vineyard Merino Wool (great for when your project will get a lot of wear and tear, like a belt or keychain!
  • Vineyard Silk
  • DMC Cotton (more affordable option!)

13 mesh fiber options

  • Silk and ivory (Emma's favorite)
  • Milan
  • Pepper Pot Silk
  • DMC Cotton Size 3 (more affordable option!)

Paint

  • Acrylic Paint Pens

Paint pens are a great, beginner friendly way to start painting your own needlepoint canvases for personal use. That's how Emma started!

  • Acrylic Paint

For those who are confident with a paint brush, Emma loves using Deco Art Americana paint for her canvases. This is a good starter kit of colors to get going with.

Finishing Your Own Ornaments

  • Cording Machine

If you want to make your own cording, this tool is incredibly useful. Allows you to make up to 4-color cording.

  • Sewing clips

These guys will be your best friend when you're finishing your own projects!

  • Sharp Needles

You'll need sharp needles to sew the front and back of your ornament together.

  • Invisible Thread

Using invisible thread helps keep your project looking clean when sewing the front and back sides of your ornament together, and when you're sewing cording on.
